The best bed sheets and duvet covers for a great night’s sleep in 2026, tried and tested
From silky Egyptian cotton to cooling bamboo

Snuggling up in fresh bedding is one of life’s small joys. But there’s a lot more to a good duvet cover and sheet than simply matching with your décor. Pick carelessly and they can keep you up all night – whether that’s because they’re too scratchy, too warm or too big for your duvet.
It’s hard to know which bed sheets will suit you and your sleep preferences from a quick online browse. Even running your hands over them in the shop doesn’t prepare you for what they’re really like to curl up in. So, our experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute enlisted the help of more than 100 panellists in our quest to find the best.
