As someone who owns over 100 LEGO sets, I know just how expensive they can get—and that’s why I’m thrilled that part of my job as a shopping editor is to check for the best prices every day. Not only does it help my personal budget, but I can share with you the absolute best deals happening right now.
If I’m attempting to save money, I always look for discounts of at least 20%—and this month I wasn’t disappointed. My favorite deal so far? This Elsa Ice Palace that’s 40% off right now. It would make the day of any Frozen fan, and at a price like this, I’d be inclined to buy it now and save it for birthdays or the next gifting opportunity.
Our favorite LEGO sales for April
- Lowest price ever: Frozen Elsa’s Ice Palace
$100$60 - For the Transformers collector: Optimus Prime
$180$153 - A Pixar icon: Luxo Jr. Lamp
$70$56 - For the travel fan: Double Decker Sightseeing Bus
$30$24
In addition to this Frozen find, there are a bunch of other sets on sale this month, including this Double Decker Sightseeing Bus that’s at its lowest price ever, or action figure favorites like this R2-D2 set and an Optimus Prime Transformer. But as with all LEGO deals, we don’t know when they’ll disappear—so if you see something you want, don’t hesitate.
If you’re a Disney adult looking for a build, I recommend this Luxo Jr. lamp, as it’s packed with Easter eggs referencing Pixar movies that you’ll only see while you’re assembling it. (Plus, it looks great on a bookshelf.)
For those who want the most bang for their buck, this adorable Creator 3-in-1 Bunny set transforms into a rabbit, a llama, and a seal depending on how you choose to construct it. What’s more, if you purchase these directions separately from a clever fan, you can turn these bricks into the adorable alien from Project Hail Mary.
With Mother’s Day just a month away, it’s also a good time to shop the LEGO Botanical line. I love the Plum Blossom set because it comes ready to display with a plinth and pot, so there’s no need to purchase a separate vase.
Again, my guidance is usually to wait for a 20% discount if you’re going to buy a set on sale—but with bigger pieces that are over $150, a 15% markdown is often the best it will get. That’s the case with the Optimus Prime set, which is close to it’s lowest price ever (and actually transforms from truck to robot).
One of my favorite builds to date, the HeiHei figurine from Moana was on sale when I started this story, but sold out as I was writing. Let my mistake be a lesson: The best deals won’t stick around all month, so score your favorites now before it’s too late.
P.S.: The Everyone is Awesome set has been out for over five years, which means there’s a chance it might retire soon—so if you’re obsessed with the rainbow colors, kind message, and monochromatic Minifigures, now is the time to get it.
