I know fall just started, but Kate Middleton's latest outfit already has me thinking about holiday dressing. During a recent volunteer trip to Pulborough, England, the Princess of Wales wore a bow blouse beneath a classic overcoat, adding a dressier touch to a layered fall look.
As always, Kate’s entire outfit screamed polished. Her earrings—little huggie hoops with dangly pearls—felt quietly luxe, especially with her hair neatly pulled back. They looked easy to replicate, and I found a few options on Amazon under $15. One of them has an eternity hoop with gemstones all around. I also included an editor-loved pick from Mejuri.
The princess wore a top that’s very in right now, but is actually iconic to ’70s fashion: a pussy bow blouse. Hers featured a large bow and was neatly tucked into charcoal trousers. A large trench acted as the perfect layer that brought everything together, and black pumps finished off the look.
I found similar top options from Amazon, Quince, and Boden that share the same sophisticated, grandma-chic feel. Some are on sale and start at $25. I included a couple more colors to check out (I love the chocolate brown for fall).
What I love most about this style of blouse is its versatility: You can tuck it into a skirt or trousers for a polished, royal-inspired look, or wear it loose with fitted jeans. Tie the bow in a large, structured shape like Kate’s, or leave the ends untied for a different vibe.
Plus, it’s so versatile. I’d probably wear it to work during the week, then throw on a hat and sunglasses for a ’70s-inspired concert look on the weekend. It’s also the kind of piece that appeals across generations—I’ve added one to my cart, and I already know my mom’s going to ask to borrow it next time she sees me.
