Before you use that Parmesan ranch seasoning in your pantry, take a second to check the bottom of the packet first.

On May 15, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a recall notice for specific packets of Parmesan ranch seasoning products sold across the U.S. at Walmart. Here's what you need to know about the recall, and what to do if you have this seasoning in your pantry right now.

What is the product being recalled?

According to the FDA notice, it's recalling lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch. Per the notice, the recalled products include the 7.3-ounce packets of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning. The lot number/best if used by dates (which are printed on the bottom of the package) of the recalled products include the following:

  • Lot 2025-43282, 7/02/27
  • Lot 2025-46172, 8/05/27
  • Lot 2026-54751, 8/12/27

Why is this Parmesan Ranch Seasoning being recalled?

The FDA noted that the seasoning is being recalled due to a third-party supplier, California Dairies, which has previously recalled its dry milk powder due to potential Salmonella contamination. Good Housekeeping reported on two other recalls in connection to this milk powder, including Kroger's Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons, and Utz's Zapp’s and Dirty potato chips. The good news is that Blackstone says that it has not received any reports of illnesses in connection with its recalled products.

"Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," the FDA shared in the recall notice. "Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis."

Where was this seasoning distributed?

The product was sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide. It was also available for purchase on the Blackstone Products website.
