• Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos announced that they adopted a brand-new puppy on October 12.
  • Fans are thrilled for the couple, and shared warm wishes on Instagram.
  • The news comes less than two years after the death of Kelly and Mark’s late dog, Chewie.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos just expanded their family with a new furry member!

On October 12, Live With Kelly and Mark had its annual Adopt a Dog Week, and fans got the chance to see the couple interact with an adorable rescue puppy named Lucas.

The next day, the duo announced that they had actually decided to adopt the sweet pup less than two years after the death of their dog, Chewie. “We have news,” Mark started the October 13 show. “We adopted Javi [formerly Lucas] yesterday!”

Mark went on to say that before making the big decision, they had the pup meet Lena, their other dog, to make sure they were comfortable with each other. And although they think it’ll be a “process,” Mark said they’ll be “great buddies.” Kelly shared that cute clip on Instagram.

Kelly also made a very sweet comment that her dog Chewie had sent Javi to them. “And someone on social media said, ‘Oh, Chewie sent you a good one,’ and I thought yes!”

Fans, of course, couldn’t hold back their excitement when they heard that Kelly and Mark would be bringing the dog home.

“Mark holding him the entire show was so sweet! Think we have a new [Live With Kelly and Mark] mascot,” one person exclaimed on Instagram. “When I saw Mark holding him...you all need him in your family!!!” another agreed. “I was watching this morning and knew from the first 5 minutes that dog was going home with Mark. ❤️🐶,” a different follower added.

Congrats!
