Lisa Vanderpump knows a thing or two about creating the perfect home. And as it turns out, she draws decor inspiration from the most unlikely places.
The restaurateur and reality star sat down for the October 21 episode of the Good Enough vodcast to discuss her new cookbook, Home at Villa Rosa. Naturally, Lisa opened up about her expansive Beverly Hills home, Villa Rosa, and how she gave it the elegant yet eclectic aesthetic fans know it for.
As she explained to Good Housekeeping editor-in-chief Elspeth Velten, Lisa’s furniture and home decor ideas didn’t come from one place. Instead, she and her husband of 44 years, Ken Todd, have slowly built the aesthetic through antiquing.
“I've been blessed with, you know, being able to basically collect things over the years,” she revealed in the YouTube clip. “It can be things from flea markets, you know, antique markets, traveling, just gorgeous little entertaining pieces. I always see the beauty in life, and sometimes it's hard to find, especially with what's going on in the world today. I look for that feel-good factor, and that has seen me through in 44 years of marriage.”
Lisa also noted that she and Ken work hard to make the home feel cozy while running their hotels, restaurants, and other business ventures.
“I want the music on. I like cooking. I like that whole feel-good factor,” she said. “Our home is our sanctuary. I really do believe that. So, when you have businesses that run 24/7, you have to have some respite. And to me, the home is that.”
We need to adopt some of these tips for ourselves!
