Dancing With the Stars season 35 will celebrate Dedication Night on October 20 on ABC and Disney+.
Actress Julia Stiles shared that she’s paying tribute to actor Heath Ledger, her co-star from 10 Things I Hate About You, with a contemporary routine.
Fans are already speculating about how Heath will be incorporated into Julia’s dance.
Dancing With the Stars week 6 is here, and fans have theories about how Julia Stiles will honor her late co-star, Heath Ledger.
The actress is dancing a contemporary routine for her 10 Things I Hate About You castmate. Her partner, Ezra Sosa, has already shared that her costume will nod to her character, Kat Stratford. Ahead of the performance, Julia filmed a TikTok about how special it is to honor Heath this way.
“It’s Dedication Night, and we are dancing contemporary to Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,’ because I’m dedicating this dance to Heath Ledger,” she said in the clip posted on October 19. “Making 10 Things I Hate About You with him was such a special moment in time. It’s amazing that people still care about that movie, and it’s just sad that we can’t celebrate it with him.”
While fans have to wait to see the performance, some have speculated about how she and Ezra will incorporate Heath into it.
"What if they use his voice from the movie for the beginning of the song 😭😭,” one person wrote in the comments, referencing Heath’s character, Patrick Verona, singing to Kat in a pivotal scene.
“What if they dance to him singing it?” another questioned.
“Imagine this—the ballroom being dark all lights out, Heath Ledger’s voice fades in ‘You’re just too good to be true can’t take my eyes off of you’ camera zooms in on Julia and Ezra and spotlight that’s what I’m imagining for their opening,” a different follower added.
Fans remember Heath for starring in movies like A Knight’s Tale, Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight, and more. He died in January 2008 at age 28, survived by his only child, Matilda, whom he shared with ex-fiancée Michelle Williams.
One thing is for sure—we’ll need tissue boxes while watching this!
