9-1-1 fans, we need to talk about what’s happening.
New episodes of season 9 continue to air every Thursday night on ABC, and it’s amazing to see how tuned-in fans are with the folks at the 118. Between situations that affect first responders’ personal and professional lives, high-stakes emergencies, and the constant worry about what dangerous situations await, it's no wonder people love it. Couple that with an incredible cast (hello, Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, and more!), and fans can’t get enough.
However, we have some bad news: There will be no new episode of 9-1-1 season 9 tonight … and we know why.
When will 9-1-1 return with new episodes?
9-1-1 will return with a new episode on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
Why isn’t there a new episode of 9-1-1 tonight?
9-1-1 is currently on a hiatus. In fact, 9-1-1’s social team shared an Instagram video featuring Aisha, who plays Hen Wilson, Oliver, who portrays Evan “Buck” Buckley, and Elijah M. Cooper, who plays Harry Grant, revealing the news earlier in April.
“You have 3 weeks to rest and recharge 🫡 ,” the caption read alongside the clip on April 9. “See you April 30th!”
Unsurprisingly, longtime fans of 9-1-1 were devastated to learn this information.
“3 weeks?? How will I survive without you on my TV every Thursday?” one person lamented in the comments. “Oh man! I was REALLY looking forward to another episode tonight. 😮 lol!” another penned. “Nooo I miss u guyssss alreadyyy 🥹💝,” a different follower added.
Fortunately, the show did give us a preview of what’s to come in the April 30 episode, thanks to a heart-pumping new promo.
With all of this, we will definitely be ready when 9-1-1 returns next week!
