Peter Krause played Bobby Nash for eight seasons on 9-1-1 before his 2025 exit.

The actor spoke out about how his character could return to 9-1-1.

The news comes as Peter stars in the new drama Line of Fire, airing Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Peter Krause may no longer be on 9-1-1, but he has some thoughts about how Bobby Nash could pop back up on the show.

The actor left the ABC drama in early 2025, after his character died by sacrificing himself in a contaminated lab to save those working at the 118. Since his season 8 exit, though, fans have been voicing their theories about how Peter could return to 9-1-1, including an idea that Bobby is still alive and hidden in a government lab.

While Peter is currently starring on the NBC series Line of Fire, airing Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, he made a rare comment about his previous role to The Hollywood Reporter—and he also has an idea that could bring Bobby to the show.

“To loop back to [the fan theories about] him being in a lab somewhere, it would be within the language of the show for Bobby Nash to come to [his senses] with amnesia and for [his wife] Athena [played by Angela Bassett] to have to get in there and make him remember who he is again,” he theorized.

Peter also noted that he understood why fans were upset by Bobby’s death.

“Look, on a show where anything could happen, I think that that’s part of the fun of that show, and why the audiences were upset is because it’s like, ‘Come on!’” he added. “Anything can happen on this show. This isn’t bound by the same rules as other television shows. This is unbridled. But I hope that they remember Bobby Nash fondly. I certainly loved him, and obviously audiences did too.”

Peter’s former co-stars are thrilled by his return to TV in Line of Fire.

“Always knew he was a cop deep down inside ... ,” Ryan Guzman (who plays Eddie Diaz) wrote on Instagram on September 8 after seeing Peter’s Entertainment Weekly cover story.

How intriguing!
