Legally Blonde fans, we’re walking down memory lane to see how Elle Woods became the woman we know and love.
While folks already know Elle as a quick-witted lawyer with incredible fashion sense, Elle, the prequel series that dropped on Amazon Prime Video on July 1, gives us a chance to see the beloved character in her formative years.
The show follows a teenage Elle (played by Lexi Minetree) navigating high school, love, friendships, and more.
Here’s what we know about the series' future.
Is there going to be a season 2 of Elle?
In a thrilling update from Amazon Prime Video on Instagram, fans learned that Elle had been renewed for season 2 and was in production. That news came in January 2026—six months before Elle’s season 1 premiere.
“Elle will be back for Season 2! 💖,” the caption read on January 21.
Unsurprisingly, fans were thrilled.
“A season 2 before season 1 comes out. Oh, girl, you did THAT!” one person exclaimed in the comments. “Best news EVER,” another penned. “ALREADY OH YES I'M HERE FOR THIS,” a different follower added.
Is Elle season 2 filming?
You bet it is!
Fans caught Lexi filming new episodes of Elle in New York City in June 2026. Take a look below at some photos from behind the scenes, including one of Lexi looking iconic in an all-pink ensemble and a yellow cab purse.
Who is in the cast of Elle season 2?
Based on what we know so far, here’s who we can expect to appear in Elle season 2:
- Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods
- June Diane Raphael as Eva Woods
- Tom Everett Scott as Wyatt Woods
- Chandler Kinney as Kimberly
- Jacob Moskovitz as Miles
- Gabrielle Policano as Liz
- Zac Looker as Dustin
Deadline also announced in February 2026 that Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will star in the new season.
According to the outlet, Maitreyi will portray Sam, a character described as Elle’s foil. As the founder and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, Sam is everything Elle isn’t. And as the publication noted, “if Cosmo is Elle’s bible, The AP Stylebook is Sam’s holy grail.”
Maitreyi spoke out about her new role on Instagram. “What, like it’s hard?” she jokingly wrote in the caption.
Talk about intriguing!
How can I watch and stream Elle season 2?

Amazon Prime Video offers an $ 8.99-per-month plan that lets you watch every title available on-site. If you already have an account, you can watch Elle on the Amazon Prime Video website or on the Amazon Prime Video app.
