Fans were upset at how the judges ranked Amber and Pasha’s dance.
Dancing With the Stars week 8 has come and gone, and fans are up in arms for Amber Glenn.
The show’s annual Disney night aired on November 2, and the season 35 contestants danced to hits from the beloved movies and Broadway musicals. Olympic ice skater Amber Glenn and her partner Pasha Pashkov performed a Quickstep to “A Star Is Born” from Hercules, and fans were thrilled by the routine.
As judge Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out while giving her feedback, Amber also unexpectedly made DWTS history that night.
“Am I mistaken—is that the first time we’ve had a woman leading a man on this show, in the history of Dancing With the Stars?” she said. “I do believe it was, so bravo to you for stepping into the power in all the right ways!”
Despite Amber’s incredible feat, Carrie Ann, Derek Hough, guest judge Cynthia Erivo, and Bruno Tonioli gave the couple three 8s and one 9, totaling 34 out of 40 points.
Fans slammed the judges' scoring on Instagram.
“Absolutely underscored,” one person wrote in the comments. “Deserved AT LEAST all 9s,” another agreed. “Underscored yet again! Shoutout to Pasha for the creativity and letting Amber lead,” a different follower added.
While viewers weren’t thrilled about Amber’s score, she and Pasha made it through to the next round of competition. And with Grammys night next week, we can only imagine what else this couple has in store!
