Fire Country season 5 airs Fridays on CBS.
The show announced that Station 19 and SEAL Team alum Jay Hayden will appear in a recurring role this season.
CBS gave some details about Jay’s character, Mason.
Fire Country fans, someone new is coming to Edgewater.
As season 5 airs every Friday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, folks are invested in Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) and the folks at Cal Fire and Three Rock. While the show introduced newcomer Olivia Thirlby as CJ Ryan at the start of the season, she isn’t the only fresh face popping up in Northern California.
As TV Insider revealed on Instagram on October 20, Station 19 alum Jay Hayden is joining Fire Country in a recurring role for season 5. It’s also an onscreen reunion for Jay and Max, as they both appeared in the now-defunct CBS drama SEAL Team.
Jay’s first episode on Fire Country is slated to air Friday, October 30, 2026. It’s titled “Winners and Losers.”
Fans were ecstatic about Jay’s casting and the idea of a SEAL Team reunion.
“Proud of you, @jayhayden00!! 🥰,” one person wrote in the comments. “AWEEEE MY BEST FRIENDS ARE BACK FROM SEAL TEAM OMG OMG OMG OMG,” another shouted. “Max & Jay!!! Clay & Brian reunited! I hope Jay has a scene with Max & Alona [Tal]! The 3 OGs back together! I love Jay, and I’m so happy to see him on FC!” a different follower added, referencing how Alona (who plays Bode’s girlfriend, Chloe Mackenzie) also appeared on SEAL Team.
According to the outlet, Jay will play Mason, “a confident and charismatic former pro baseball player and one-time teammate and pal of Bode and Jake (Jordan Calloway).” Also a member of a revered Edgewater family, Mason returns home to help turn his family’s paper mill into a brand-new business. While he hopes to reconnect with old friends, he carries secrets that could make or break the town's citizens.
How intriguing!
