New episodes of Law & Order: SVU season 28 air every Thursday on NBC.

The show revealed that actress Stephanie March, who played Alex Cabot, will make her first cameo in almost a decade.

Stephanie was on SVU from seasons 2 to 5, and has made multiple appearances over the years.

Law & Order: SVU fans, a fan-favorite character will return this season.

New episodes are airing every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. While we know that Christopher Meloni will return to the show ahead of the 600th episode, fans learned he’s not the only OG member making a cameo.

According to an Instagram post on October 26, viewers will see Stephanie March reprise her role as Alexandra “Alex” Cabot in a special guest appearance. She’ll be in the ninth episode of season 28, NBC Insider says. This marks her first return to SVU since the season 19 episode “Sunk Cost Fallacy” in 2018.

“Squad, get ready to welcome back A.D.A. Alex Cabot!” the caption read. “Stephanie March will return to SVU for a special guest appearance.”

Understandably, fans were thrilled about Stephanie’s upcoming cameo.

“I’M SCREAMING CRYING AND THROWING UP, MY GIRL ALEX IS BACK, I'VE BEEN PRAYING FOR THIS MOMENT, ALEX ILYSM 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭,” one person screamed in the comments. “THE QUEEN IS BACK,” another agreed. “This wasn’t on the bingo card, but I’m sure glad it’s happening 😱,” a different follower added.

Stephanie first appeared on Law & Order: SVU in season 2 in 2000. She was a series regular through season 5, when her character was forced to fake her own death and go undercover in witness protection. Although she hasn’t been on the show in some time, she made cameos in seasons 6, 10, 11, 13, and 19.

Stephanie played Alex in the spinoff series Conviction, which aired for just 13 episodes from March to May 2006 on NBC, according to Variety.

Stephanie is already back on set, shooting scenes with Mariska Hargitay.
