Sheriff Country was renewed for season 2 this fall on CBS.
The show will premiere on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
The Sheriff Country season 2 premiere date coincides with the first episodes of Fire Country season 5 and Boston Blue season 2.
Mark your calendars, Sheriff Country fans.
Season 2 of the Fire Country spinoff is currently filming, and fans have been patiently waiting to see what’s next for the hit procedural drama. Mainly: when they’d get the chance to see Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown), Nathan Boone (Matt Lauria), and the rest of the Edgewater police department back on their TV screens.
According to a bombshell announcement dropped on Instagram on July 27, Sheriff Country season 2 will premiere on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
“Asked and answered,” the caption read alongside the clip. “We’ll catch you October 9 during CBS Premiere Week ✨.”
Unsurprisingly, fans were ecstatic about the news.
“OMG yessssss I'm so ready,” one person wrote in the comments. “I finally have something to watch!” another exclaimed. “YESSSS FINALLY!!!!!!” a different person cheered.
The show’s release date coincides with the season 5 premiere of Fire Country and the first episode of Boston Blue (the spinoff of Blue Bloods) season 2.
Showrunner Matt Lopez teased to TV Insider in May 2026 that there is a lot to unpack this season after the shocking reveal of Mickey’s mother, who she thought was dead, being DEA agent Eva Santos (Rachel Ticotin) and how they need to work together to take down a Bulgarian cartel.
“One of the things we’ll unpack at the beginning of Season 2 is to what extent was Eva Santos trying to learn what kind of person her daughter is,” he told the outlet. “She has been cut off from her daughter for years for reasons that we’ll get into and will become very clear. And I think the decision that she made all those years ago to leave Wes and Mickey, while it was a brutally hard decision and one that I think Eva has regrets about to this day, when the audience sees all the reasons that went into it, it’s not as simple as black and white.”
We need the premiere to come soon!
