Sheriff Country got renewed for season 2 on CBS.
Production on season 2 is officially underway, with the cast reuniting for its first table read.
New Sheriff Country episodes are expected to air sometime in the fall of 2026.
It looks like we’re already heading back to Edgewater.
It’s only been a few weeks since the Sheriff Country season 1 finale, and viewers were left in shambles over each twist. The finale featured a major betrayal, a game-changing family revelation involving Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), and further complications in her relationship with Nathan Boone (Matt Lauria), leaving fans eager to see what's next. Luckily, season 2 is in production.
As actor Chris Gorham (who plays Mickey’s ex-husband, Travis Fraley) posted on Instagram on June 3, the cast got back together for their first table read for Sheriff Country season 2. What’s more, he also teased that it may not be too long before folks can dive back into new episodes.
“And just like that, we’re back!” he wrote in the caption. “Sheriff Country season 2, day 1. See y’all real soon!”
After fans caught on to Chris’ exciting update, they had to voice their excitement.
“I’m so happy now 🙌🙌 love this show,” one person wrote in the comments. “Thrilled to see it's all coming together for season 2. Love it!! 💥,” another cheered. “Can't wait for season 2... Great show. 🙌❤️,” a different follower added.
And luckily, Sheriff Country isn’t the only show taking over Edgewater later this year.
The show’s predecessor, Fire Country, is also slated to film its upcoming season 5 sometime this summer. After all, both Fire Country and Sheriff Country are expected to be back on the air this fall on CBS.
We can’t wait to see what’s next!
