Someone new is coming to Edgewater.
Sheriff Country returns for season 2 on October 9 on CBS, and fans are ready to see Morena Baccarin suit back up as Sheriff Mickey Fox. But she’s not the only one getting into uniform. In an Instagram post on August 24, Morena revealed that her husband, actor Ben McKenzie, will guest star in the Sheriff Country season 2 premiere episode, titled “Cyclone.”
“There’s a new sheriff in town,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of him in costume.
Fans loved the behind-the-scenes video.
“Please be real and not just reel!!” one person shouted in the comments.
“From The OC to Sheriff Country. Welcome @mrbenmckenzie,” another penned.
“Bring your husband to work day 🤣🤣🤣,” a different follower cracked up.
Ben and Morena’s romance began in 2015, when they starred as James Gordon and Leslie Thompkins on the Fox drama Gotham. The couple later welcomed a daughter and son, and they tied the knot in June 2017.
As for Ben’s role on Sheriff Country, a Deadline report noted he’ll portray Sheriff Wade, “a neighboring sheriff who is called in to assist Baccarin’s Sheriff Mickey Fox and has a few secrets of his own.”
We can’t wait to see them share the screen!
