There’s a brand-new Easter egg in Morrisons that’s being called a game changer by shoppers - and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. Why? Because it’s kept in the fridge.
Meet the Loaded Dessert Easter Egg, a limited-edition chilled treat that you’ll find next to the chocolate pots rather than in the usual ambient Easter aisle. It’s a first-of-its-kind concept, blending the idea of an Easter egg with a fully loaded dessert.
The egg comes in a half-shell design (perfect for sharing) and is packed with layers of chocolate and cheesecake. It starts with a thick Belgian milk chocolate shell, followed by a biscuit crumb base and a creamy mascarpone cheesecake filling. Then it’s taken to the next level with a generous topping of mini eggs, chocolate brownie chunks, chocolate-coated biscuit balls, honeycomb pieces and a drizzle of white chocolate. It’s a lot, but we're told it's delicious.
Early reviews suggest it lives up to the hype. One shopper described it as a “thick, chunky half egg with very good quality chocolate,” praising the loaded toppings for adding even more indulgence.
There is one small warning though - it’s not the neatest dessert. Once you cut into it, the cheesecake filling tends to crumble and spill out, so this is definitely one to serve on a plate rather than eat straight from the pack.
Priced at £5.25 for 215g, it's a fun and affordable option for two people, or for sharing after an Easter lunch. And thanks to its eye-catching and unique design, it doubles up as a great dessert centrepiece if you’re hosting. We'd serve it on a large plate with plenty of fruit surrounding it for a really easy Easter treat.
It doesn't seem to be online (yet) so you'll have to head to your nearest Morrison’s to try this one but we'd be quick as it's only around for a limited time, so if you’re curious about the next evolution of Easter eggs, you need to try it before it disappears.
