Just when we thought the Easter weekend couldn’t get any better, we spotted something on the M&S shelves that stopped us in our tracks. The supermarket is now selling a bake-at-home cookie dough inspired by its hugely popular speckled egg cookies, and it conveniently serves four people. Ideal if you’re hosting this weekend… or just fancy an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert.

M&S

If you’ve tried the original in-store version, you’ll already know how good these are. They’re everything you want from a cookie: chewy in the middle, golden around the edges and packed with that satisfying chocolatey crunch from the speckled eggs scattered throughout. So the fact we can now bake them fresh at home feels like both a blessing and a slight risk… because this could very easily become a new obsession.

The dough itself is made with all-butter cookie mix and loaded with generous chunks of milk and white chocolate, alongside M&S’s signature Speckled Eggs. As it bakes, the chocolate melts into the dough while the eggs soften slightly, creating that perfect mix of gooey and crunchy in every bite. For £6 you get 300g worth of cookie dough that's ready in only 20mins!

It’s also one of those desserts that feels impressive with minimal effort. Simply bake, slice and serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting over the top. We wouldn’t overcomplicate it — the classic pairing really does work best here.

If you’re looking for a fuss-free dessert that still feels a bit special this Easter, this is the one product to add to your basket.
