Nothing rivals a bit of nostalgia - especially when it comes to food. And Waitrose is leaning all the way into that idea with its latest launch, teaming up with Disney+ to bring a playful, retro-inspired range to shelves just in time for spring.

Landing in stores and online from 27 April, the new collection celebrates the return of Rivals with a line-up of unmistakably 80s flavours, reimagined in a way that's both fun and surprisingly chic. It’s all about indulgence, personality and a little bit of friendly competition, with each product designed to go head-to-head in a flavour showdown.

At the centre of the range is a sandwich battle. On one side, the Scotch Egg Sandwich, packed with seasoned egg mayo, crumbled Scotch egg and a hint of chilli jam. On the other, a Thousand Island Prawn Sandwich, loaded with prawns and a rich, tangy dressing. Both are bold, nostalgic and unapologetically indulgent.

Then comes the crisp clash, where Steak Diane squares up against Bloody Mary Prawn Cocktail. The former leans rich and savoury, while the latter brings a spicy, punchy twist to a classic flavour.

Desserts dial up the nostalgia even further with a pudding face-off. Rhubarb & Custard ice cream delivers creamy sweetness with a sharp ripple, while Peach Melba offers a fruitier, summery option with peach and raspberry notes.

And for drinks, there’s even a spritz rivalry. A Peach Melba Spritz goes up against a Spicy Pineapple Daiquiri, proving the 80s weren’t shy when it came to bold flavour combinations.

We're definitely going to try the crisps first - those steak Diane crisps are seriously calling our name...
