We have to admit, our job has its perks. Last night we attended M&S’s Summer Showcase for 2026, and alongside clear blue skies, a live band and plenty of Champagne, we got a first look at what’s coming next in the world of food innovation - and it’s looking very exciting.
We sampled a whole range of new products, from their epic Long Dogs (served with a smoky corn relish that we’re still thinking about), to a variety of summer-ready treats. But there was one product in particular that completely stopped us in our tracks - mainly because we couldn’t believe it hadn’t been done sooner.
Introducing M&S Choc Cone Ends.
Yes, the very best part of an ice cream cone - that chocolate-filled tip at the bottom - has been turned into a snack all of its own. It’s such a simple but genius idea.
Each mini waffle cone end is filled with rich Belgian milk chocolate. The cone itself is beautifully crisp, with a light vanilla flavour that tastes almost freshly baked, while the chocolate centre is softer than expected - more like a thick, smooth mousse, which balances perfectly with the crunch.
They’ve been designed to be scattered over ice cream, added to sundaes, dipped in extra chocolate sauce or just eaten straight from the bag (which is exactly what we did).
The only downside? You’ll have to wait a little longer. They don’t land in stores until 1 June, but we can already tell they’ll be one of M&S’s biggest hits this summer.
