The brand collab of the year has just landed in supermarkets and we are genuinely freaking out over this one. If you’re a chocolate orange lover, you’re going to want to pay attention because two foodie icons have officially joined forces.
Introducing the brand-new limited-edition Jaffa x McVitie’s Digestives. The new launch takes the classic oaty digestive biscuit we all know and love and upgrades it with an orange caramel filling and a thick coating of smooth milk chocolate. It's important to note that early reviewers are saying the flavour leans much more Jaffa Cake orange than Terry’s Chocolate Orange, which makes this collaboration feel very authentic and true to the brand.
And texture-wise, this isn’t just a digestive with a hint of orange. People who have already managed to track down a pack say the centre is chewy and stretchy - much closer to the caramel-style fillings used in other chocolate digestives rather than the jelly texture you’d find inside an actual Jaffa Cake.
Right now the biscuits have only been spotted in Sainsbury’s stores, where they’re retailing for £2.25 for a 250g pack (but their RRP is £2.35 according to the brand), meaning you may need to do a little hunting if you’re desperate to try them first.
The news comes following the continued social debate and most recently a social post from the debate society at the Student Union for The University of Buckingham, which claimed once again that Jaffa Cakes are biscuits. 😂
We always love seeing a genuinely fun product launch like this, especially one that opens the door to some excellent baking opportunities. In fact, we’re already thinking about swapping these into our favourite Jaffa-inspired bakes, particularly our Jaffa loaf cake. That combination of chocolate, orange and biscuit sounds far too good not to experiment with.
