There's some exciting new coffee in town, and this time Nescafé has pulled out all the stops by teaming up with two of our favourite chocolate bars.
Launching this summer are not one but two brand-new instant coffee flavours: KitKat Latte and Lion Mocha. If you're someone who always gets tempted by the latest seasonal drinks at your local coffee shop, these feel like a much more affordable way to recreate those flavours at home.
First up is the KitKat Latte (£2.35), which takes inspiration from the iconic chocolate bar with its unmistakable wafer flavour. Expect a creamy, frothy latte with sweet chocolate notes and that familiar biscuity taste that makes KitKat so instantly recognisable. We can already picture ourselves curling up with one of these on a rainy afternoon when the biscuit tin is looking a little empty.
Then there's the one we're arguably most excited about: the Lion Mocha, available from £1.85.
The Lion bar has always been one of our favourites thanks to its brilliant combination of crispy wafer, chewy caramel, crunchy cereal and milk chocolate. Translating all of that into a mocha is no easy task, which is exactly why we're so intrigued to try it. If Nescafé has managed to capture those rich caramel and toasted cereal notes alongside a good hit of coffee, this could become our new favourite 3pm pick-me-up.
Rather than simply creating another vanilla or caramel latte, Nescafé has leaned into two chocolate bars that many of us grew up eating, bringing those familiar flavours into our morning coffee routine.
The KitKat Latte is available now in Sainsbury's, while the Lion Mocha, priced from has already landed in Asda. We'll definitely be trying both, but if we had to choose just one, the Lion Mocha has our name written all over it.
