It’s officially 1 September, the kids’ school uniforms are ironed and ready to go, and we’re just about ready to say goodbye to picky teas in favour of all things silly season.

And this week, Christmas officially arrives in the M&S Foodhall. Hurrah!

The first thing going in our basket is the Big Daddy Advent Calendar.

The brand-new calendar contains 24 peanut and pistachio bites, followed by a whole 36g Little Big Daddy peanut bar to open on the big day.

If you love the Big Daddy bars as much as we do, this is the only countdown you’ll need this Christmas. At £12, we can already see it selling out.

If you prefer your Christmas treats in a tin rather than behind tiny doors, the new £10 Gimme S’more Munch is also launching this week. Inside, you’ll find cookie fudge clusters, fluffy marshmallows, milk chocolate digestive pieces, dark chocolate pretzels, white chocolate popcorn and caramel buttons.

We’re just going to cut to the chase and buy two tins now, because we know that if we buy one “for Christmas”, it won’t make it to December.

But it’s not all new launches. M&S is also bringing back the Gingerbread and White Chocolate Cookies that broke the internet.

Returning for a third year, the five-pack contains golden gingerbread cookies studded with white chocolate and salted caramel fudge pieces. Heaven.

The full M&S Christmas range will continue to land in Foodhalls throughout the autumn, so consider this your early warning: the festive snack cupboard is about to become very crowded.
