When M&S first launched its Chunked N' Loaded cookies last summer, they quickly became one of the retailer's biggest bakery hits. And it's not hard to see why. These aren't your average cookies – they're oversized, extra-thick and stuffed with generous chunks of chocolate and indulgent fillings that ooze from every bite. They feel much closer to something you'd find at your local artisan bakery than on a supermarket shelf.

Now, M&S has unveiled a brand-new autumn flavour and i've already decided it's the best flavour yet.

Inspired by everyone's favourite seasonal pudding, the new Chunked N' Loaded Sticky Apple Cookie captures everything we love about a warm apple crumble, only in gooey cookie form. Inside the cookie is a generous studding of creamy white chocolate buttons, sticky apple pieces and crisp caramel flakes. Every bite is soft, chewy and packed with comforting autumn flavours. The apple adds a lovely fruity sweetness, while the caramel flakes bring a surprising crunch to keep every mouthful interesting.

I don't say this lightly because apple crumble is really up there with one of the all-time best desserts on the planet, but I'd genuinely choose this over the real thing. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it's 10 times better than an apple crumble. It's comforting without feeling heavy, and the combination of warm apple, creamy white chocolate and buttery cookie dough is ridiculously moreish.

Also, I'd highly recommend warming it in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds before eating, which turns the white chocolate deliciously melty and makes the whole thing taste even more like a freshly baked dessert. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you're feeling particularly indulgent, and you've got what might just be the ultimate autumn pudding. One cookie costs £2.10, so a bit more on the expensive side but for the high quality and taste, it's money well spent.
