If you thought February brought some good shows with it (anyone watching The Lady? Or Vanished?), you’ll be pleased to hear that things are about to get even better in March. At least, as far as TV is concerned. We’ve had a sneak preview of all the great shows coming our way this month and, because no one wants to waste time scrolling for something good to watch, we’ve hand-selected the 12 5-star dramas worth your time this March.

For starters, Sherlock Holmes is returning to our screens (or a new iteration of him) in must-see detective drama Young Sherlock and Sharon Horgan has a twisty new relationship drama up her sleeve in the form of Vladimir. Oh, and the brilliant Eve Myles is returning to our screens in another blockbuster ITV drama, Gone. So, remotes at the ready, because these are best shows coming to ITV, Netflix, the BBC and more this March.

Is there such a thing as too many Yellowstone spin-offs? Paramount+ doesn’t think so. This new series sees the return of Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), who’s said goodbye to the Yellowstone ranch and hello to an elite unit of US Marshals tasked with restoring order in Montana. Kayce and his teammates must juggle family duties at home with the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defence in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families – and it’s going to be far from easy. Arriving on Paramount+ on Monday 2nd March.

The stakes have been raised by an elusive foe known as the Game Maker who’s targeting Morgan and her loved ones and meanwhile, the hunt for Morgan’s missing husband, Roman, continues. Arriving on Disney+ on Wednesday 4th March.

Following his record-breaking gangster drama MobLand, Guy Ritchie is bringing us another series that might just top it – if you’re a fan of detective dramas, anyway. Inspired by Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, the eight-part series tells the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective Sherlock Holmes. With Hero Fiennes Tiffin starring in the titular role and Firth playing Sir Bucephalus Hodge, it’s bound to be another smash hit. Arriving on Prime Video on Wednesday 4th March.

What could make this month‘s TV even better? A new Sharon Horgan series, of course. The Bad Sisters creator is teaming up with Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz for this eight-part Netflix adaptation of Julia May Jonas’ critically acclaimed book of the same name. We’ll be entered into the orbit of a beloved English professor (played by Rachel) facing a slew of accusations against her professor husband (John Slattery) by former students. Complicated, yes, but even more so when she develops an obsession of her own. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 5th March.

And her main suspect? Sarah’s husband, Headmaster Michael Polly, who's played by Sherwood's David Morrissey. One we’ll all be talking about. Arriving on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday 8th March.

Finally, the BBC’s hit conspiracy thriller is officially returning - and according to Director of BBC Drama Lindsay Salt, it “will dazzle and terrify” fans in equal measure. The first two series saw Holliday Grainger's DI Rachel Carey race against the clock to get to the bottom of two major conspiracies that involved video manipulation and, much to our relief, she’s returning to duty. This time, she finds herself much more deeply involved – right at the heart of it, in fact. Arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Sunday 8th March.

Scarpetta

Nicole Kidman is stepping into the shoes of one of literature's favourite forensic pathologists, Dr Kay Scarpetta, in a series she’s been “pursuing for nearly 20 years”. When we meet her, Kay is working in Richmond, America, as a Chief Medical Examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia and she’s got plenty of criminal cases to help unravel. Oh, and did we mention Jamie Lee Curtis is playing her sister? Arriving on Prime Video on Wednesday 11th March.

Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere

Netflix

Mark your calendars for Louis Theroux’s first feature made exclusively for Netflix. The 90-minute documentary follows him as he travels to Miami, New York and Marbella to embed himself within the so-called “manosphere” — a loose but influential network of online creators who promote rigid, often extreme interpretations of masculinity. Exploring how their content impacts modern relationships and what “being a man” is supposed to look like in 2026, it’s an important watch. Arriving on Netflix on Wednesday 11th March.

If you thought a single Yellowstone-esque series was enough for one month, Taylor Sheridan is bringing us another new series to binge. While not a spin-off, there’s plenty of family drama in store as we’re introduced to a new cast of characters led by Stacy Clyburn (Michelle Pfeiffer), the matriarch of a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana. The family, including Stacy’s daughters, self-centred Paige McIntosh (Elle Chapman), and Abigail Reese (Beau Garrett), a recently divorced mother-of-two, have relocated and are seeking emotional recovery following a tragedy that shattered their unit, so we can expect a series that’s a little more intimate than what we’re used to from Taylor. Arriving on Paramount+ on Saturday 14th March.

Imperfect Women

If you're still not over the end of The Handmaid’s Tale and Elisabeth Moss’s departure from our screens, you’ll be pleased to hear she’s the star of the show in Imperfect Women. Based on 2020 Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, the psychological drama introduces us to three friends played by Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington and Kate Mara whose decades-long friendship is shattered by a harrowing crime. With Moss and Washington also serving as executive producers, we have a very good feeling about this one. Arriving on Apple TV+ on Wednesday 18th March.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

Here it comes – after six series, the next chapter in the Peaky Blinders saga is coming… in film form. Head honcho Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) was last seen riding off into the sunset on a white horse after faking his own death, and something has clearly gone amiss as four years have passed, World War II has taken hold, and Tommy is no longer in hiding. Expect “full-on Peaky Blinders at war”, says creator Steven Knight. Arriving on Netflix on Friday 20th March.

Imagine being moments away from achieving your biggest dream, and then it all going very wrong. That's the premise of Riz Ahmed's new series, which tells the story of struggling actor, Shah Latif (played by Riz himself), who's on the cusp of finally making it thanks to landing the audition of a lifetime. But over the course of four days, his life spirals wildly out of control. Arriving on Prime Video on Wednesday 25th March.
