The Princess of Wales revealed an unexpected talent as she joined Prince William for a very special video this weekend. It appears the royal couple have been taking language lessons, and they showed off their skills in a special personal address. Prince William and Kate shared their short speech as a video to their official social media accounts on Sunday (1 March) to mark St David's Day.

St David is the national patron saint of Wales, and the couple were visiting the country last week ahead of the occasion on Sunday. Standing side by side in a video, the couple spoke in Welsh to deliver a special message.

Taking a line at a time each, between them they said, 'To everyone in Wales, a very happy St David's Day. Wales is very close to our hearts and we look forward to every visit. It is a beautiful country with a rich history and wonderful people. Wishing you a day full of celebration with family and friends.' Watch below:

For the video, Kate rewore a favourite dress of hers - a red and black tartan dress by Alessandra Rich.

As well as the couple's official titles being The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate have a deeper connection to the nation, as it was the first place they lived together after they were married. It is also where The Prince was stationed with the Air Ambulance.

During their Welsh trip, the couple met with locals residents, organisations and school children to learn more about the work of volunteers, businesses and projects around the country. Throughout their visit, both added daffodils to their lapels to symbolise the national flower of Wales. For the occasion, Kate wore a monochrome burgundy look, pairing a satin ME+EM blouse with a longline coat and deep, wine red boots.

In one particularly sweet moment, Kate was gifted a homemade necklace by a little girl, during a craft workshop. In the sweet exchange, the child approached Kate and removed her necklace from her own neck, and fastened it around The Princess', who kindly kept it on through the rest of the event.
