It might not have officially been Ladies Day at Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday (11 March), but Princess Anne, her daughter Zara Tindall and Queen Camilla appeared to be having a lovely day at the races, and invited The Princess of Wales' mum, Carole Middleton, to join them for the exciting event. For the occasion, Carole borrowed a stylish accessory with a peacock feel from her daughter's wardrobe - but it was her earrings that really caught our eye.
Arriving at the racecourse, Carole was all smiles in a navy blue trilby hat trimmed with brown feathers, which belongs to The Princess of Wales. Carole's look consisted of a check midi coat with statement brass buttons, a faux fur neck stole and, of course, her chic hat. To finish the look, Carole added a pair of droplet earrings featuring a gold flower shape, with pink petals and a central stone.
Luckily for us, there's a pair of almost identical earrings available at M&S - and they're only £15. The pair are the 'Per Una Flower Drop Hoop Earrings' and they're still in stock online (at time of writing) - and even available for next day delivery.
Carole was spotted at the event walking with Zara, who wore a similar midi coat but in a wrap-around, rather than button-up, style. The coat was threaded with deep pink, and Zara matched the tone with an asymmetric hat featuring a floral outline. To accessorise, she added a pair of leather gloves and dark, round shapes which framed her face. Her husband, Mike Tindall, also joined the group.
Later in the day, the royals were seen watching the action from a glass balcony, and appeared to to be having a whale of a time. Princess Anne and Carole Middleton looked like they'd seen something hilarious, and couldn't stop laughing as they oversaw the action of the races.
While Royal Ascot is the horse-racing event officially associated with - and attended by - the Royal Family each year, various members often join other races throughout the season. Princess Anne and Zara Tindall have both competed in equine sports, so are particular fans of the events.
