It's finally happening! Line of Duty series 7 is in motion, and members of the cast have reunited to confirm things are very much underway. Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar got back together with writer Jed Mecurio, and shared posts from their official read through for the new series this week.
On her own Instagram account, Vicky posted a smiling snap of herself with her fellow cast members and Jed, captioning it 'Line of Duty S7 readthrough' - so it seems safe to say it's definitely happening! Especially as BBC iPlayer also shared a snap of the four saying, 'Now we’re sucking diesel! It’s back to work for this lot at the #LineOfDuty Series 7 read-through.'
But it was a video of Vicky, Martin and Adrian (aka Lana Washington, Steve Arnott and Ted Hastings) which really got us excited. 'Hello everybody! We're back. Here's the script. Want a look?' says Vicky, brandishing the coveted script in her hands. She then even flicks across the pages to the camera, before joking 'Nah!' Even though it was a brief look, BBC iPlayer (which posted the clip) put an emoji onscreen to cover up the pages, as it looked as though we would have been able to see some of the text.
Vicky may have been joking when she offered to share a peek, but we're sure there are many eagle-eyed fans who would have been able to pause the clip, and painstakingly piece together details of the exciting next series.
Can't wait to see what comes next for the gang? Us neither. While we don't have an exact release date yet for the new series, BBC have confirmed that the next instalment begins filming this spring - which is right around the corner. With the read-through already ticked off, it looks like things are really beginning to build pace.
And, if you want to relive it all from the start and refresh your knowledge - or even start watching it for the first time (where have you been?!) - then every series (1 to 6) is currently available to watch on iPlayer.
