The Princess of Wales may have a big team around her, but she still likes to communicate directly with the public on events particularly close to her heart. The clue to look out for on social media, is whether the caption or message is signed with a 'C'. This indicates that it is coming from Catherine herself, rather than a member of her team.

This week, The Princess chose to share a heartfelt message once again, posting a series of videos on the official Instagram account she shares with Prince William. Wednesday (22 April) marked Earth Day and, given the topics of conservation and the environment are so great for the Royal Family, it made sense that she would want to mark the occasion.

In her address, Kate contemplated the role of nature in connecting ourselves to a place of home and belonging. 'When we listen to the rhythms of Mother Nature, we remember where we belong,' she wrote, signing the message with her signature 'C'. The post also directed followers to a series of videos which she has released seasonally.

The Mother Nature series of short films are available to watch on The Prince and Princess of Wales official Youtube channel and are organised into Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each video features shots of natural landscapes across the nation during each of those seasons, set to classical, meditative music to show the beauty of the environment. The Prince of Wales is a also big advocate for ecological causes. He even launched his own environmental awards, The Earthshot Prize, to help fund and support initiatives aimed at fixing the planet. His father, King Charles, has been a life-long advocate for nature and the environment, decades before climate change became an everyday topic of conversation. A recent film, Finding Harmony: A King's Vision explores his work in this area, and the encounters that led to his deep appreciation for the natural world.

There have been a lot of celebrations this week outside of Earth Day, with the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II's birth on Tuesday and Prince Louis turning eight years old today. To mark the occasion, the young prince's parents shared a brand new portrait of the adorable royal on their social media accounts, alongside a video montage of him enjoying the sand and sea.
