As celebrity couples go, David and Victoria Beckham are really going the distance – and we’ve been lucky enough to watch the whole thing. From their 90s days as frosted-tip Posh and Becks through the arrival of their children to a family celebration of David receiving a star on the Walk of Fame, we’ve been able to see the pair deepen their relationship over the course of nearly three decades.

Now, after 27 years of marriage, the pair have shared sweet anniversary messages to each other on Instagram, along with throwback images of their relationship over the years.

David kicked off the celebrations with a photo from the couple’s wedding day, one of the couple laughing in matching yellow outfits, and images of them looking lovingly into each other’s eyes. For the caption, David wrote: ‘29 years together, 27 years married & you have given me everything I could ever wish for… Our proudest achievement will always be our family. I love you & Happy Anniversary.’ Sweet, right?

The post swiftly received a comment from Victoria Beckham herself, reading ‘Happy anniversary. I love you so much,’ along with best wishes from a bunch of the couple’s celebrity friends. Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsay and Khloé Kardashian all swung by the post to offer congratulations.

Victoria opted for a single photo for her anniversary post, showing her and David coordinating in light blue ensembles as she air-kissed his cheek. Her caption was equally lovely: ‘After 27 years of marriage, four amazing children and countless matching outfits, you’re still my *everything*. Happy anniversary!! I love you so much.’

This is far from the first time David and Victoria have engaged in a spot of PDA. More than a decade ago, Victoria said in an on-stage interview: ‘What I really liked about David right from the start is that when all the other players were in the lounge afterward having a drink with their friends, David was sitting with his mum and dad and his younger sister. I’m really close to my family, he’s very close to his and I just thought that was really nice.'

It’s about working through it. We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, “Do we stay together because it’s a brand?” Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children. “Do you go through tough times?” Of course. That’s part of relationships. It’s part of marriages. It’s part of having children. It’s part of having responsibilities.’
