The Prince and Princess may have been married for 15 years - and together for more than two decades - but that doesn't mean they've stopped showing each other how much the other means to them. According to former royal gardener Jack Stooks, the couple are privately romantic, and have different ways to show their affection for one another.
Jack worked at Highgrove House for more than 20 years, and got to know many members of the Royal Family during his time there. Speaking about the Prince and Princess, Jack said that he wouldn't describe the couple as 'doing overtly romantic things' often, but that they had their own ways for showing they care.
When it comes to his wife, Prince William is 'romantic, but in more private ways,' Jack said, in partnership with Heart Bingo. 'He would sometimes arrange small, private dinners for her.' While Jack saw Prince William using acts of service to ensure Kate felt loved, he said that 'Kate would buy thoughtful little gifts' in return. He said that, one year, the Princess purchased Prince William, 'a lovely beltbuckle'.
While the Prince of Wales might arrange dinners for his wife, he's also been particularly vocal over the past couple about exactly how much Kate means to him. In a Heart breakfast radio show, Prince William spoke about how proud he is of how hard Kate works and everything she's achieved, particularly given her health struggles. The Prince said he was, ‘so proud, very very proud. She’s been amazing. She’s been through so much in the last few years.’ The Princess of Wales has been open about her cancer treatment and recovery, and is now in remission.
The couple share three children together - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and, during the same interview, Prince William said Kate was ‘an amazing mum and an amazing wife and literally our family couldn’t cope without her. She’s been absolutely stunning.’ In April, the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, having married at Westminster Abbey in 2011 after meeting at the University of St Andrews. Millions around the world tuned in to watch their big day.
