Guy Ritchie’s gloriously stylish crime drama is back for a second helping, with Tom Hardy reprising the lead role as Harry Da Souza, a mob fixer for the infamous Harrigan family, who rule north London’s criminal underworld. The family is made up of Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren), her husband Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) and their son Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine). The first series saw them more fractured than ever, and the next chapter will see them on the cusp of a full-blown civil war. Will Harry be able to stay one step ahead of their enemies and keep the empire together? MobLand series 2 will premiere on Paramount+ on Friday 18 September.

For another equally compelling crime series from Guy Ritchie, this spin-off to his 2019 film follows English aristocrat Eddie (Theo James), who becomes embroiled in a criminal underworld after inheriting his father’s country estate – which is also home to a huge cannabis farm. The operation is run by the ruthless father and daughter duo, Bobby (Ray Winstone) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario). The second series will see their business expand out from England to the Italian lakes – but Bobby is making wild decisions and enemies are closing in across all fronts. The Gentlemen series 2 will premiere on Netflix on Thursday 3 September.

Across two further series, we've seen them tackle a complex slew of cases – from drugs and violence plaguing the city to the sinister operations of high-ranking individuals. Now, they're hard at work again facing a new threat, as well as a murder trial that exposes a long-buried secret from within the force. Blue Lights series 4 will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.

Channel 4

This French sun-soaked comedy drama which, if you ask us, is as good as Death In Paradise, takes us to the south of France where we meet an unlikely detective duo – Iris (Lucia Passaniti), a young stickler for the rules, and Victor (Bruno Salomone), an old-school cop of few words. Together, they must resolve their personal and generational differences to take on a series of mysteries – from the death of a brilliant Parisian chef to a murder in an escape room. It’s the perfect TV escape! Coastal Unit will arrive on Channel 4 on Friday 18 September.
