The New York Knicks won the 2026 NBA championship on June 13, and Jalen Brunson was named MVP.
The NBA star revealed that his next career goal was to land a guest spot on Law & Order: SVU.
Jalen is a good friend of the lead actress of the NBC series, Mariska Hargitay.
Jalen Brunson just won the NBA championship—but the New York Knicks star already has his sights set on another epic gig.
The MVP basketball player has been on quite a high lately, especially after clinching the NBA’s biggest event on June 13. But he’s not wasting any time achieving his next goal.
In a video that was posted to the NBA’s official Instagram, Jalen was asked what’s next for him in his career. He replied that his dream was to guest-star on the upcoming season of Law & Order: SVU, alongside his good friend, Mariska Hargitay.
“Try to get on SVU,” he confidently told a reporter in the clip uploaded on June 14.
Fans were thrilled by the prospect.
“Benson & Brunson—saving the city 🤝,” one person wrote in the comments. “We desperately need a Brunson SVU episode 🙏🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼,” another begged. “That will be the most watched episode once it airs! 😍 Mariska you know what to do for Season 28!” a different follower added.
In June 2025, Jalen and his wife, Ali, attended the premiere of Mariska’s film, My Mom Jayne, and Mariska later explained how their friendship began.
“I think Jalen sort of grew up on SVU,” she noted on Late Night With Seth Meyers at the time. “I think he felt this, as many people do, intimacy and safety that one does growing up on SVU.”
Mariska took to her own Instagram to celebrate Jalen's win in the NBA Finals.
“Thank you @jalenbrunson1 for taking us there,” she wrote alongside a photo of the duo hugging.
Can we make this happen soon, please?
