Law & Order: SVU will celebrate a major TV milestone this fall.

As the hit procedural drama prepares for its season 28 premiere on October 8, 2026, on NBC, fans are ready to see more adventures from their favorite team of SVU members. But even after 25 years on the air, there are still new things to achieve.

When star Kelli Giddish (Sergeant Amanda Rollins) spoke to Extra ahead of the Law & Order: SVU season premiere, she revealed that the show will celebrate its 600th episode this year. While details on what to expect are naturally under wraps, the actress teased that fans will be excited by what’s coming their way.

“Well, we are doing the 600th episode,” she said in the clip posted on YouTube. “I think maybe we’ll have some good surprises there.”

Kelli noted how special it is to work on episodes like this.

“I think I was there for the 400th episode, and looking back at that picture with the cast and crew, we’ve aged!” she added. “But that’s OK—it’s cool to see all of us that have been there for so long, just how cool to see who’s still there. A lot of crew members are there, a lot of cast members are still there ... it’s a family.”

And if there’s anything viewers can expect from Law & Order: SVU, it’s Rollins’ and Benson’s relationship. “I love that we’re going to keep exploring the female friendship between Rollins and Benson,” she concluded. “That’s the most exciting.”

Can the new season come sooner???
