If you’ve ever wanted to try Wagyu, or if you love a good Beef Wellington, Burger King is tapping into every meat lover’s dream with a limited-edition Wagyu Wellington-inspired burger - and no, it won't cost you an arm and a leg either...
Launching from tomorrow, 24 March, as part of their ‘Gourmet Kings’ menu, the Wagyu Wellington Burger offers a more accessible way to try this premium cut, with a nod to classic Sunday lunch flavours. Made from 100% British Wagyu beef (yes, we do Wagyu here), the patty is described as rich, juicy and full of flavour, topped with a creamy porcini mushroom sauce.
As if that wasn’t enough, Burger King has gone all in on the toppings. Smoky bacon, peppery rocket, caramelised onions and crispy onions for that all-important crunch, all sandwiched inside a soft, golden brioche bun. It’s indulgent, definitely OTT, and exactly what you want from a limited-edition fast food launch.
This kind of elevated menu isn’t unique to Burger King right now either. We’re seeing more and more fast food chains stepping up their offerings, from KFC launching a full pickle-themed menu (including a pickle Pepsi drink) to restaurants leaning into bold, playful flavours that feel a bit more premium.
If you were a fan of Burger King’s previous Wagyu burger, there’s more good news - it’s also making a return. And alongside it are Truffle Loaded Fries, which, if you know us, are reason enough alone to visit. Also, it seems even Gordon Ramsay is a fan...
The Wagyu Wellington Burger starts from £11.29 and will be available in-store and across delivery platforms, with Just Eat offering £7 off when you spend £20.
