Summer has finally arrived and we are fully embracing every second of this sunshine. And with summer also comes one of our favourite sporting events of the year: Wimbledon. Partly for the tennis, but mostly for the strawberries and cream, sunshine and inevitable glasses of Pimm’s.
And in a surprising turn of events Lindt is getting involved. Spotted over the weekend is the brand-new Lindt Tennis Balls, launching in time for Wimbledon season. And while they might not improve your backhand, they do look like a very fun gift for the tennis lover in your life.
The new chocolates come in a quirky and fun 110g pack for £8 and are made using Lindt’s signature smooth Swiss milk chocolate, filled with creamy hazelnut praline for a rich, melt-in-the-mouth texture that's as smooth as butter. They’re indulgent, nutty and very easy to work your way through while watching an afternoon match in the garden. Just don't forget to pop them in the fridge for a refreshing treat.
Now, we do need to manage expectations slightly. Despite the name, they aren’t actually the size of tennis balls. In reality, they’re much closer to golf balls in both size and appearance. So if you were imagining giant hollow chocolate spheres filled with praline, this isn’t quite that. Still delicious though.
These will make a great little addition to a Wimbledon-themed spread alongside strawberries and cream, or simply something to snack on during a sunny afternoon outdoors.
