K FC is tearing up the burger rulebook with new Crispy Naan burgers and it is definitely giving Dishoom a run for its money.
Running for a super limited time, next week between 20 July - 23 August, the fast-food giant is swapping its iconic burger buns for soft, fluffy naan breads in what might be one of its most exciting menu launches in years. This is one limited-edition range that's even tempting us to branch out.
Available for just five weeks, the new Crispy Naan comes in two flavours. First up is the Tandoori Zinger, combining KFC's spicy Zinger fillet with punchy tandoori sauce, fresh tomato, red onion, lettuce and melted cheese, all folded inside two pillowy naan breads.
Then there's the one that's really caught our eye: the Creamy Original Crispy Naan. Featuring KFC's famous Original Recipe chicken, it's finished with a brand-new yoghurt and shallot sauce that sounds fresh, tangy and packed with herby flavour. It feels a little reminiscent of Dishoom's famous naan rolls, and we're very much here for it.
The tandoori theme doesn't stop there either. KFC is also launching Tandoori Loaded Fries, topped with Popcorn Chicken, both sauces and crispy onions, alongside a huge Tandoori Dipping Feast (£26.99) that's clearly designed for sharing.
As if that wasn't enough, KFC is also expanding its Kwench drinks menu with two permanent matcha drinks made using PerfectTed ceremonial-grade matcha (our favourite).
What to read next
The standout looks to be the Iced Strawberry Shortcake Matcha (£4.49), blending vanilla syrup, real strawberry purée and buttery shortcake crumbs into what sounds like one of the most indulgent matcha drinks we've seen on the high street. There's also a simpler Iced Vanilla Matcha (£3.99) for those after something a little more classic.
The Crispy Naan range will be available from next week, and run for just a little over a month, while the new Kwench Matchas are joining the menu permanently.
