This is not a drill. ASDA has just launched a GIANT Jaffa Cake, big enough to share, and we can’t wait to get our hands on a slice. The retailer seems to have finally settled the 'is it a cake or a biscuit?' debate with its enormous chocolate-orange creation weighing a whopping 820g and serving 12.

It follows the supermarkets viral Giant Custard Cream Cake which recently returned to shelves after a loyal fan base demanded it.

But we reckon the new cake will be even more popular with Jaffa Cake fans, particularly for those of us that can remember the 90’s total eclipse advert.

With layers of soft sponge and bright orange curd, the whole thing is then covered in a layer of orange-flavoured frosting and finished with smooth chocolate icing. So, essentially, it’s everything we love about Jaffa Cakes – just in a much bigger format. What’s not to love?

Perfect for birthday parties, afternoon tea, or just because, we’re convinced it will be another popular addition to ASDA’s giant cake range.

Vote for the next giant cake

And that’s not the only exciting news. ASDA is asking us to choose which biscuit-inspired flavour it should turn into a giant cake next.

What to read next

You can vote via ASDA’s social post, with Cookies & Cream, Malted Milk, Jam & Cream and Bourbon all in the running. The winning flavour will be turned into the next giant cake – but we’ll have to wait until 2027 for it to hit shelves.

The Giant Jaffa Cake is available in ASDA stores and online now, priced at £14 (working out at £1.17 a slice!). If the reaction to the Giant Custard Cream Cake is anything to go by, we wouldn’t hang around if you want to try it.
