It was an exceptionally glamorous date night for Hannah Waddingham on Wednesday (3 June) as, not only did she look fabulous (as always!), but she was joined by her new partner, Nick Beresford-Cleary. The evening was somewhat of a public milestone for the couple, as it marked the pair’s first red carpet event together.
Hannah and Nick arrived at luxury hotel, The Chancery Rosewood in London’s Mayfair, for the awards evening; Variety 2026 Power of Women London Presented by Lifetime. Hannah was honoured on stage with an award at the event, forming part of an influential list of honourees which also included Cynthia Erivo, Emilia Clarke, Suki Waterhouse and Emma Corrin.
For the important evening, Hannah channelled one of Hollywood’s most iconic star’s; Marilyn Monroe, and put a twist on her most famous look. Hannah wore a halterneck dress which flowed into a floor-length skirt with a high split. Instead of opting for Marilyn-like white, Hannah wore her dress in shimmering black, while styling her similarly blonde hair in a sophisticated up-do. The star’s subtle nod to Marilyn Monroe is especially poignant as Marilyn would recently have celebrated her 100th birthday if she were still with us, and a number of events are taking place to honour her memory.
There to cheer Hannah on was her partner, surgeon Nick, who looked dapper in a classic tuxedo for the evening. The pair grinning on the red carpet, arm-in-arm together, and appeared to be thoroughly enjoying their date night.
While Wednesday was the couple’s first red carpet event together, the pair made their public debut at Cheltenham Festival back in March, where they were spotted out and about together. The duo were seen happily holding hands and wearing co-ordinated looks. Hannah opted for a three piece suit and tie, complete with a green felt hat, while Nick chose a long coat over a roll neck jumper. The pair subtly linked their outfits by both going for a check print, but avoided matching too closely by selecting different colours; Nick in grey and black, and Hannah in a warm, earthy brown tone.
The pair were at Cheltenham Races on Golden Cup Day and plenty of other famous faces were spotted around the grounds with them, as well as on other days across the week. Guests even included members of the Royal Family, such as Zara Tindall and Princess Anne, and The Princess of Wales’ mother, Carole Middleton. Carole – like Hannah - also wore a trilby hat for the occasion, but one which she borrowed from her daughter, Kate.
