Is there anyone quite as effortlessly cool and stylish as Gillian Anderson? M&S certainly doesn't think so. The brand invited the star to join a special collaboration, leading to Gillian spotlighting a hero buy which has now shot to the top of our Autumn wish-list - a checked midi skirt.
Gillian Anderson joined M&S as Chief Compliments Officer, with the brand stating that her mission is to 'tell you all [M&S customers] how fabulous you look' in its must-have pieces. In a post on Instagram, Gillian modelled a look of her own from the new autumn winter collection, and her fabulous skirt was the stand-out piece.
In a selection of photos shared to social media, Gillian wears the A-line midi skirt in black and orange check, giving the look a rich autumnal feel. She paired it with a black sleeveless top with eyelash lace detailing, and a pair of strappy high heels.
The good news is that the skirt is now available to buy online and is stocked in a wide range of sizes and fits - sizes 6 to 24 and petite, regular and tall. Gillian wears the 'M&S Checked Midi A-Line Skirt' below which is £40:

M&S chose Gillian for her role with the brand as she is 'known for her pared back, elegant style,' it states on the campaign page of its website. It added that, since beginning her M&S collaboration, 'Gillian's new working wardrobe combines soft tailoring in classic neutrals such as black, navy and grey paired with streamlined, statement heels and jewellery.'
Gillian showcased her trademark elegant style during promotions for her latest film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma which was released last month.
