The Princess of Wales revealed a favourite snack this week, as she joined local community members in West Sussex for lunch this week. While at the table at the community centre, one of the attendees bet Kate didn't eat some of the snacks on offer - but Kate proved her wrong.
The Princess of Wales was at Pulborough Village Hall on Wednesday (1 September), having arrived in a minibus run by the volunteer-led transport service, West Sussex Minibuses. While Kate was sitting with local residents who were enjoying their weekly lunch in the hall, 74-year-old Lynda said to the Princess of Wales, 'I bet you never eat crisps!' Kate insisted she was a fan of the snack, saying, 'I do. I love salted,' before grabbing one for herself, according to royal editor Rebecca English. A surprise for Lynda!
The sweet exchange (above) is just one of many clips circulating on social media from Kate's visit. A video shared to the Princess of Wales' official instagram account showed her greeting an elderly resident outside her home, before helping her climb into the minibus. Rather than following along in a shiny car, Kate climbed in alongside her and strapped in for the journey, chatting all the way.
In a caption, the Princess said it had been an 'inspiring' day where she'd been 'hearing how opportunities to come together can help build friendships, reduce isolation and support wellbeing, while creating a strong sense of belonging.' She praised the organisations and volunteers she'd encountered during her visit and their 'small, everyday gestures helping to build stronger, more connected communities.'
For her day out, the Princess of Wales wore a chic, monochrome grey look with a stylish midi-length coat - a real autumn statement. She paired it with a silver blouse with a pussybow necktie and grey trousers. There was one subtle pop of colour however - her shoes. Kate chose a pair of heels in burgundy, which is the 'it' colour of the season, to add a touch of warmth and interest.
