Dakota Johnson is someone we’re always looking at for style inspo. After all, she has that cool-girl, laidback look that always manages to feel polished but approachable.
Recently, Dakota was spotted leaving a press junket in New York City in the perfect fall outfit. She looked cool and casual in sunnies and a cropped tuxedo blazer. Her overall look felt like an elevated, street-style version of what someone might wear to the office or a post-work event. But what really caught my eye were her shoes.
Dakota’s wearing a glove silhouette, which are very much the ballet flat that’s in right now. It's hard to tell whether the anklets are built into the shoes or worn separately, but my best guess is that they're these popular (albeit expensive) Khaite's.
As for the rest of the outfit, Dakota wore a cropped plaid blazer in a muted beige and some ripped jeans. (After taking a small hiatus, they’re so back.) Dakota’s were a light-wash pair that cut right at the ankle. Now I know ripped jeans aren’t for everyone, but I personally love that they feel relaxed and effortless. Plus, I think they add visual interest to any outfit.
The pictured jeans look like they can be cropped Levi 501s (which by the way, are loved and recommended by the GH Textiles Lab), but I couldn’t find a perfect match online.
Instead, I’ve found a few pairs that feel similar to the ones Dakota was wearing. Check out the different options, starting at $30—some have tapered bottoms while others have wider silhouettes.
