M&S has gone and double-injected a doughnut for the first time. The brand-new treat is filled with both blueberry jam AND creamy cheesecake. I know! Two desserts in one…
Last summer, the retailer’s Chunked N’ Loaded cookies became one of its biggest bakery hits. Oversized, extra thick and packed with chocolate and indulgent fillings that ooze with every bite – we can see why. So, when M&S announced it was bringing the same over-the-top approach to doughnuts, I had to try one.
Priced at £2 a pop, the Dunked N’ Loaded Blueberry Cheesecake Doughnut is part of what M&S calls its biggest bakery drop ever, alongside the elite Cornflake Cookie and the cutest dot cakes. I tried the whole range and this was the one I kept thinking about.
The doughnut itself is so soft. It’s dunked in icing and finished with a buttery crumble and dried blueberry pieces that add a little crunch. It looks pretty gorgeous, too.
But the filling is the real star. Did we mention it’s double-injected? The contrast of sweet blueberry jam with the oh-so-creamy cheesecake is a 10 for us. It’s rich, fruity and properly indulgent – and everyone in the office wanted a taste. A word of warning, though: it’s a messy one!
The Dunked N’ Loaded Blueberry Cheesecake Doughnuts are in M&S stores now, freshly baked and restocked daily. And seeing how popular recent launches have been, if you’re keen to try one I wouldn’t hang around for long.
