We're sending birthday wishes to Prince Harry today (15 September) as the royal turns 42. To celebrate his special day, Prince Harry's wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, shared a sweet video compilation of never-seen footage of the Prince with his two children. In the clips, he enjoys a number of activities with Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, with some surprising choices.
In a previous video Meghan shared to her Instagram account on Monday (14 September), Prince Harry was filmed teaching his children to fish in a lake. Fishing is a classic royal hobby his father, King Charles, has done since he was a child and continues to do in the grounds of Balmoral and elsewhere. In the latest video, however, Prince Harry can be seen showing his children some much less traditional sports and activities (no fewer than six!), including archery, basket weaving, golfing, quad biking, skiing and biking.
In one clip, Prince Harry stands in front of a target board covered with balloon, holding a set of archery arrows with his son Archie. In another, he and Lilibet walk together, Prince Harry carrying her bike alongside him. Both children are also seen riding with him on a quad bike while a dog follows along behind them.
Sitting at a table alongside his daughter, Prince Harry also sits with a partially woven hat or basket perched on his head. At another moment, he shares a sweet kiss with her in the back of a golf buggy, while Meghan smiles at them from the front seat. The most traditional sport shown in the clip is skiing, which the Prince often did with his own parents, Princess Diana and King Charles, and brother, Prince William.
This summer, Prince Harry and Meghan announced they were moving back to the UK and are currently settling into their new life. Although now geographically closer to the rest of the Royal Family, the pair won't be returning to royal duties, and will continue their private business interests. The distinction was confirmed in a letter from King Charles, which clarified that Prince Harry and Meghan were continuing to act in a private capacity, rather than being full-time working royals.
