Jenna Bush Hager has done it again—this time with a look I'll be recreating ASAP. The Today host stepped out on the blue carpet at the U.S. Open in a timeless outfit that's exactly how I want to dress this fall.
Jenna attended the Women’s Final this past weekend, and she stood against the tournament's iconic blue backdrop with a matching navy vest set. Her clean, tailored outfit had me ready to retire my flowy summer silhouettes for more polished layers.
I think what really makes this vest suit stand out is the pinstriped pattern, extra-large tortoiseshell buttons, and front flap “pockets.” I also appreciate that the vest and pants can be worn together or separately.
A quick search told me that this outfit’s from New York fashion brand Cara Cara. Both pieces are sold out almost everywhere, but you can find select sizes of either at Revolve. Just be warned: stock is low.
If they’ve run out of your size (or you’d prefer something a little more budget-friendly), I found similar vests at Amazon, Quince, and Nordstrom. These won’t have matching pants, but I think they’d pair just as nicely with a structured pair of neutral bottoms. Personally, I'd swap the pants for a midi skirt—it’d feel just as polished, but a little softer and easier to wear.
In terms of accessories, the outfit already does most of the work. I love Jenna’s take—she’s always wearing statement jewelry, and the necklaces she chose to wear that day complement the tone on the buttons.
I think it could also be fun to add a hat (or when it gets cooler, wearing the vest over a T-shirt or button-up). Add some boots or heels and it’s a complete fit.
BRB, going to shop for a vest right now—I’m getting excited thinking about the different looks I can create.
